Elegant, vibrant, colorful, and inviting -- this not only describes the wedding, but the bride and groom themselves! It was an absolute pleasure to serve Miranda + Alex on their special day! 

When first meeting Miranda + Alex, they came to me in the fall of 2020 eager and ready to plan their elegant barn wedding in Northern Michigan. They had already selected Shanahan’s Barn as their wedding venue so we were able to begin the vendor recommendations and design process right away. They had a beautiful vision for their day and it was my honor to be able to bring that vision to life for them.

Planning Miranda + Alex’s wedding was truly a gift! I enjoyed every meeting with them and getting to know them personally throughout the process. I pray I will get to work with more trusting, kind and generous couples just like them as I continue on with In the Details Weddings.

Every time I saw the couple during their wedding day they were smiling, asking how things were going, thanking me and seemed to be having the time of their lives. This is exactly what I dream of for each of my clients! Their only job was to show up, enjoy themselves and celebrate the marriage journey they were entering into. ​

This wedding took place on a cool fall day in 2022. There was rain in the forecast but having intricately planned a gorgeous outdoor cocktail hour we prayed against it as much as we could! Miranda + Alex were a laid back couple and they truly put their trust in me and my team which is a priceless gift. I knew that we would do our absolute best to pivot if there was rain and I knew that they would trust our judgment to make the call when needed. Due to their trust in us, they were able to have a completely relaxed wedding day to enjoy with their family and friends. ​

My absolute favorite design element was their floral installation on the barn doors as you enter. Smilax greenery adorned the barn doors with large floral sprays in the middle and at the bottom of the door. The barn doors also had ceiling to floor draping. It was truly a magical way to enter the reception space and was sure to capture the eye of every guest. ​

Their color palette was vibrant and bright colors that consisted of burnt orange, blue, light pink, greens and gold accents. Sweetwater Floral captured the vision perfectly and made their whimsical floral dreams come true. 

Miranda and Alex had some really special touches that their guests just loved! Their dessert table was one to remember with a variety of mini desserts so you can try a little bit of everything. They even had mini pies plated and served to each guest. After dessert was over the guests made their way to the dance floor area only to find a live painter capturing every single detail of the event! After their special dances took place the live band really brought the party to life and kept the it going all night. 

One of the most special parts of the day for me was watching Miranda + Alex during their first dance. They went to dance lessons together and had their dance choreographed special for them. Watching them enjoy this moment for me was a highlight and it brought tears to my eyes. It warmed my heart to see them fully in the moment, fully in love with each other and knowing they have nothing else to think about right now but just that. ​
